I’ve been in love with this series for years, any chance they’ll be released as audiobooks?? I already sent a request through Audible…fingers crossed!

    1. paulaweston says:

I’m not aware of any plans at this stage, but I’d very happy if the series made it to audio book! Thanks for requesting. ๐Ÿ™‚ And thanks for the message.

Totally rad books, your hard-work and dedication to writing is truly inspiring. I was just rereading Haze and was wondering if you’ll ever do little ‘extras’ regarding Jude and Rafa straight after they leave the Sanctuary ( was intrigued by Ez saying that leaving Gabe behind ripped their hearts out). Anyway, thank you for writing such a fantastic series, it is one I am not planning on forgetting anytime soon.

    1. paulaweston says:

Thanks Megan – I really appreciate that! I must confess I do occasionally daydream about scenes involving Rephaim characters, and small ‘extras’ would probably be a good way to play around with those. I have my plate full at the moment with the new book I’m working on, but I certainly wouldn’t rule out dabbling in that word again, even if it’s just for a bit of fun down the track. Thanks again for your message. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for replying!

Hi – My 14 year old daughter was given Shadows for Christmas. I read it after her rave reviews. And i loved it just as much as she did. We live in the US, so it took me a while to track down the other 3 books online as I was too impatient to wait for the US release dates. Now we are super sad that the series is over as we both fell in love with all of the characters. You are an amazing writer. I’m sure this question has been posed many times, but I promised my daughter I would ask. Is there any chance you would do a book based on Jude and/or Rafa’s perspective? Thanks so much for the enjoyable read!!

    1. paulaweston says:

Thanks so much for the message ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s always lovely to hear when readers enjoy the series. I don’t have any immediate plans to write further books in that world, but I never say never. And, as I’ve said before, I love the world and the characters so who knows! If I did, the story would definitely be from a different character/s’ perspective… In the meantime, I’m working on a brand new stand alone novel that will be published in Australia next year, which is really starting to come together now. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Rachel says:

I love your books and can’t wait for Burn!! Does Gaby become one of the best fighters again in Burn? Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. paulaweston says:

Thanks Rachel. You’ll have to read Burn to find out… ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Gretta Condon says:

Thank you for replying and for writing the stories and I really hope that another book is written somewhere down the line.
Also I totally agree with you when you say that life isn’t all wrapped up neatly in a box.
This series is a series I will read over and over I can just tell, so again thank you for sharing this story with everyone.

    1. paulaweston says:

      My pleasure. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Gretta Condon says:

    Hi Paula
I just wanted to tell you that I have read all four of your books and absolutely love them to bits.
I also wanted to say that I think you should write a fifth book because in the fourth book you said that there is going to be another war. I believe that you should have a fifth book where this war commences.
I know that you may not want to write another book for fear of it being to much or maybe you now want to focus on another book, but I ask that that you ask some of the fans of the books if they also think that should be another book for this reason.
Thank you for your time and please take my suggestion into consideration.
    Yours sincerely Gretta Condon.

    1. paulaweston says:

      Hi Gretta,
Thanks for taking the time to leave your comment, I really appreciate it. Without getting too spoilery, I intentionally left some of the ‘bigger world’ plot threads open at the end of Burn due to the nature of the Rephaim series. A full-scale war at the end would have felt at odds with the ‘personal’ feel of the other books and – you’re right – would have taken another book to tell. I also didn’t want to wrap everything up too neatly because life’s not like that. ๐Ÿ™‚ Having said all that, I do love these characters, and I do wonder how things will be for them down the track. That’s not to say that I definitely will write another book (I do have other ideas to explore first!), but I know there might be scope for other stories in some capacity. Either way, I love that you care enough about the story and the characters to want it. So thank you again. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Lucy says:

    Hi Paula
I just finished the fourth book in the rephaite series and wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read your note at the end and you mentioned you don’t write full time. I love your writing, it’s refreshing, amusing and whisked me away into the world of the rephaim immediately. Please write more books! I can’t wait to read them. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    1. paulaweston says:

Thanks so much Lucy. ๐Ÿ™‚ I live to write, so I’m already reasonably advanced on the next thing. x
