This makes so much more sense. I live in Canada and I didn’t know it was released on may 22nd for Australia and New Zealand ONLY so when I found out it wouldn’t be released until next year I was so shocked!! I had been trying to find the book since it was released but with no luck and now I know why! I just read the first chapter and boy am I dying to have the book in my hands!! Would it be released early or late next year? Also, do you have any plans on writing anything in Rafa’s POV? I’d love to know what he’s thinking <3 love Rafa!

      Hi Sharon,
At this stage, Haze is scheduled for September 2014 in North America (with Shadows coming out this September), so it’s a little way away…Sorry! Re a story in Rafa’s POV: It’s crossed my mind, so is not entirely out of the question! 🙂 He’s always fun to write, so you never know… Thanks for the message!
      Paula

Do you have a rough idea of release dates for books 3 & 4 in Australia? I read Haze last night, all in one go!

    1. paulaweston says:

Nice work! I don’t have a formal release date for book 3 (I’m still writing it!), but I imagine it will be around this time next year, with book 4 a year later. I can’t imagine it will be more than 12 months between releases though. 🙂

  3. Hannah says:

Yay! I will definitely keep checking to see if you’ve posted it yet. Can’t wait! I’m in a dilema, I don’t know where I can find your book other than on the internet. & if I buy haze off the internet that means I have to wait extra long for it to be posted and then get here! GRRR!!!

    1. paulaweston says:

You should be able to pre-order Haze at any bookstore in Australia (only 10 days to go) or you could order direct from Text Publishing http://textpublishing.com.au/books-and-authors/book/haze/. Last year Text was very prompt in getting copies out.

Hannah – I agree. I love writing this series and these characters, but I have a very definite idea of what I want to achieve in these four books. And what I want to write about next. 🙂

    1. Hannah says:

Hi again, I was just thinking about it, and do you know what the third book is going to be called or are you still coming up with its name? I can’t help it, I am just really curious now I’ve started thinking about it, cause it reminds me of the twilight series with how all the titles are connected…

      1. paulaweston says:

Yes, I do have a name for the third book. 🙂 I thought I’d let Haze hit the shelves first and then talk about it a little while after that. So stay tuned!

  5. Hannah says:

Have you started on a third book? Please let there be a third….

    1. paulaweston says:

      Hi Hannah,
Yes – there’s a third and a fourth! (And then that’s it for the series). The draft of book 3 is well under way. 🙂

      1. Hannah says:

Awesome! That is a good amount, because too many books annoy me because you have to spend heaps of money buying all of them, and you get annoyed waiting for the next one and trying to find all of them. At the same time, you never want it to end and want it lengthy as well. But, I reckon thats a good sized series 🙂

I picked up “Shadows” and I couldn’t put it down!! I’d finished it in less than a day! Can’t wait for “Haze” to come out!

    1. paulaweston says:

Thanks Nimbus. 🙂 I always love to hear that.

  7. paulaweston says:

Thank you. 🙂 The next one is nearly ready…

    1. Lady says:

      Great! I can’t wait!
Though, is there a release date?
If so I don’t know it, could you tell me if there is please? =)

      1. paulaweston says:

Hi Lady: What part of the world are you in? Haze is out in Australia and New Zealand on 22 May. I need to double-check UK date (either June or October – I’ll confirm!), and the US/Canada release will be next year.

    2. Lady says:

Hey sorry, it wouldn’t let me reply to the other post, but I live in Bundaberg Australia but am only a new fan of the series, unfortunately.. So I wasn’t up to date on the information.
      Thank you for the information!
      Really look forward to it!

      1. paulaweston says:

At least you don’t have as long to wait! 🙂

  8. Lady says:

About Me

I’m the author of the Rephaim series and The Undercurrent.

For my day job, I’m a writer-journalist-professional communicator, where my writing involves a lot less profanity.

I grew up in regional South Australia and now live in the Scenic Rim with my husband and a retired greyhound.

If you’re interested in how I came to land a publishing deal, you can read the short version in this post from August 2011. There’s a longer version (in a guest post) here.
